- Human Clinical Study
- A 28-day, multi-center, open-label clinical study was conducted to prove the efficacy and safety of MoodElite®.
- 15 subjects aged between 50 and 75 years old with sleep problems were enrolled and 13 completed. The sleep quality was determined by Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI).
MoodElite® can increase sleep quality quickly, in as few as 7 days, mainly alleviate sleep problems such as slow falling asleep, easy awakening at night, or early awakening in the morning.
- MoodElite® increased sleep quality and relieved depression
We ran 3 preclinical studies on sleep quality and depression relief.
a) Study on sleep quality in healthy mice
- 500 mg MoodElite® was administered in healthy mice for 4 weeks.
- The mice data indicated that MoodElite® reduces pentobarbital-induced sleep latency and increases sleep duration.
- It is superior to 5-hydroxytryptophan and chamomile extract.
b) Study on depression relief in healthy mice
- 500 mg MoodElite® was administered in healthy mice for 30 days.
- Compared to the placebo, the treated mice relieved the depression significantly in the forced swimming and tail-hanging test.
- It is superior to St John’s Wort tablets.
c) Study on depression relief in depressed rats
- 500 mg MoodElite® was administered in Chronic Unpredictable Mild Stress (CUMS) rats for 4 weeks.
- Compared to the CUMS+ placebo, the treated depressed rats increased the sucrose intake in the sugar water preference test.
- It is superior to St John’s Wort tablets. MoodElite® effectively improved the anhedonia in derepressed CUMS rats.
