FX2 is environmentally safe with no need to neutralize and no fumes or cleanup of hazardous chemicals with VOC<1 and is semi-transparent . FX2 colors reach their full potential within minutes of application and can be built up without the worry of damaging the concrete like an acid stain does. Note that a Classic Sealer must be applied and will make the color more vibrant. For both indoor and outdoor use. Available in 1, 5 and 55 gallon drums. We recommend testing on a sample area first since results can vary from different surfaces. Surface application temperature should be from 23°F to 120°F (-5°C to 49°C).
Applications & Uses
- Applications
- Applications
Surface application temperature should be from 23ºF to 120ºF (-5ºC to 49ºC). Apply a medium application of stain. The more stain that you apply the darker the color gets. To eliminate any brush strokes in the stain mist very little water over the brush strokes unless they are desired in the finish. When the stain dries, spray a second coat on top for a darker color and for a more solid base. For a more diffused look, spray the stain onto the surface without brushing. Every slab of concrete is different so we always recommend doing a small test patch on the surface corners. Water based stains can be cut with water to make a lighter shade. Test a small area of the concrete before using the new diluted shade to make sure it is the color you want. Cement content and weathering is another reason to do as many pre-application tests as possible. Let the stain dry and processes. Different stains need different times to activate and fully color the concrete (generally 15 minutes to 1 hour). Be sure and check your stains activation time before starting the job to insure full coloring of the surface. If you are going for the most color from a given stain, spray another coat over the dried surfaces. Don't walk on the wet surfaces because the stain is active and can retain impressions of your feet or marks from your tools.
