The NLGI#3 rating is the stiffest silicone grease and used in applications where high vacuum and high pressure are present. Due to its ultra stiff consistency, it will not wash off easily, and is extremely tenacious in staying on the surface. If you require 100% silicone grease that is not as stiff, we offer the 3005 (NLGI#2).
Silicone Grease NLGI#3 is used in a variety of applications that require: wide range of thermal stability, high dielectric strength, electrical insulation, inertness to rubber and plastic surfaces, corrosion and moisture resistance.
Silicone Grease NLGI#3 is inert to virtually all substrates with the exception of silicone rubber. It is often used for lubricating o‐rings, gaskets, valves and seals as well as surfaces that require excellent lubricating properties over long periods without drying out. It is not recommended for metal‐to‐metal lubrication or on surfaces that will be painted or finished.
