CLiQFLOW® 707 is a hydrogenated castor oil based thixotropic additive for solvent-free and non-to low-polar solvent based systems. It imparts a strongly shear thinning flow behavior with excellent sag resistance and good flow and leveling. Anti-settling properties and work ability are also improved with the organic thixotrope.

Product Highlights

CLiQFLOW707 is used in general industrial and heavy-duty non-aqueous paints but also in adhesives, sealants and unsaturated polyester putties to improve the application performance of either system. If required CLiQFLOW707provides a false-body to the material to improve storage stability or workability. The hydrogenated castor oil technology is also used in powder coatings to improveflow, levellingand degassing during application.

CLiQFLOW 707 is a finely micronized powder that requires dwell times, shear forces and a well-defined temperature for activation. The required activation temperature depends strongly on the polarity of the system.

Applications & Uses

Coating Type
Level of Use

CLiQFLOW707 is typically used at a loading between 0.2-2.0% depending on the required thixotropy.

For optimum activation the material is added early to the manufacturing process to allow sufficient swelling. The material must then be processed within a well-defined temperature window; typically between 35-50°C for aliphatic hydrocarbon based systems and between 50-65°C for solvent-free systems. In powder coatings CLiQFLOW707 is incorporated sufficiently during the extrusion process.

The optimum activation temperature and loading level should be determined for each system using a temperature and loading ladder study. (please refer also to the technical informationsheet for CLiQFLOW 707 and 709)
