Acute oral toxicity
CutiBiome CLR contains ingredients, which have a long tradition in plant medicine. CutiBiome CLR is considered to be non-toxic and safe in cosmetic use at the levels advised by us.
Eye irritation potential
CutiBiome CLR (undiluted) was tested on the chorioallantoic membrane of the hen's egg where it produced an irritation index of 0.00 and was classified as "non-irritant" to mucous membranes.
CutiBiome CLR (undiluted) was tested using the Bovine Corneal Opacity and Permeability Assay (BCOP). The calculated mean in vitro irritation score was 1.64. According to the evaluation criteria CutiBiome CLR is classified into UN GHS “No Category”.
Skin tolerance
A 48 hour patch test on 50 volunteers has been performed using CutiBiome CLR (undiluted), among these 26 individuals with normal skin, 5 sufferers from eczema, 4 allergic and 15 individuals with sensitive skin. This test showed neither skin irritant nor sensitizing effects. Thus CutiBiome CLR can be classified as harmless as regards the possibility of skin irritation.Mutagenicity
CutiBiome CLR was investigated for its potential to induce gene mutations according to the bacterial reverse mutation assay using 4 different strains of Salmonella typhimurium and E. coli WP2 uvrA bacteria, with and without metabolic activation. No mutagenic effects could be observed in any of the five tester strains up to the highest dosage.
