- Mode of Action
Lactokine Fluid PF minimizes reactions caused by skin irritation, such as release of inflammatory mediators or reduced cell vitality, thereby shortening the time of inflammation and accelerating recovery of the physiological skin condition. As a consequence of this powerful anti-inflammatory activity Lactokine Fluid PF efficiently protects the skin. The protective action of Lactokine Fluid PF is based on increased cell vitality. Lactokine Fluid PF increases significantly the energy (ATP) level of the cells, thus enabling the cells to react faster and more effienctly to external damaging influences.
- Applications
Lactokine Fluid PF is recommended for the regenerative care of stressed and aging skin, for prevention of damage causing premature skin aging.
Lactokine Fluid PF can be used in aqueous and emulsified skin care preparations.
- Processing
Short-term heating to approx. 40 °C does not affect bioactivity. The pH of formulations containing Lactokine Fluid PF should be in the range 5.8 to 7. Avoid alkaline pH values.

Technical Details & Test Data
- Product Solubility
Due to the isoelectric points of the proteins contained in Lactokine Fluid PF the pH should be fixed between 5.8 and 7 to maintain optimum solubility.
5 % Lactokine Fluid PF in water-alcohol mixtures with a maximum alcohol content of 20 % v/v yield slightly turbid, but stable solutions.
Safety & Health
- Physiological Safety
Note:Test protocols refer to the code name "LMP" which is identical with the product Lactokine Fluid PF but contained 0.2% methylparaben in addition. No negative impact on physiological safety parameters are to be expected due to the emission of this preservative component.
Acute oral toxicity
LD50 in rats: > 2000 mg/kg bodyweight.
No significant toxicological effects could be observed.Eye Irritation Test
Lactokine Fluid PF, undiluted, was tested in accordance with the OECD Guideline No. 05. The classification "minimal irritant" (class 3 out of a score system ranging from 1 to 8) suggests that no symbols or risk phrases are required on the packing.
Acute dermal irritation
Lactokine Fluid PF, undiluted, was tested in accordance with the OECD Guideline No. 04 where it produced a primary irritation index of 0.0 and hence could be classified as "non-irritant".
Human Patch Test
A gel containing 5 % Lactokine Fluid PF, tested on 30 volunteers, produced no rythema, scaling or fissuring. Therefore, with regard to possible skin irritating properties, Lactokine Fluid PF can be classified as "harmless".
Sensitization
Lactokine Fluid PF, undiluted, was tested in accordance with the "Magnusson and Kligman Maximization Study" (OECD Guideline No. 406) where it produced a Sensitization rate of 10 % (1/10) and hence was classified as "mild sensitizer" for uinea-pig skin. No symbols or risk phrases are required on product packing because Lactokine Fluid PF did not meet the criteria for a classification as a sensitizer.
