Filters: Prepare the tub for filter soaking by DILUTION RATIOS filling with hot water. Add CLR PRO® Heavy Duty Cleaner & Degreaser in a ratio of 8:1 water to cleaner. Carefully remove the filters from the exhaust hood. Wipe excess grease from the filters using a clean paper towel. Pre-treat all surfaces of the filter by spraying CLR PRO® Heavy Duty Cleaner & Degreaser directly onto the filters. If the filters are a baffle style, be sure to coat the filter both inside and out. Using the cleaning brush or sponge, gently agitate the cleaner on the filter surface. Place the filter into the soak tub being sure to fully immerse the filter in the solution. Repeat the process for all remaining filters. Leave the filters to soak and move on to cleaning the exhaust hood.
Exhaust Hoods: Remove the grease drip tray from the exhaust hood. Wipe the tray clean of excess grease. Using a dilution of 3:1 water to cleaner, spray CLR PRO® Heavy Duty Cleaner & Degreaser onto all exposed hood surfaces. Wipe the sprayed surfaces clean using paper toweling. Repeat until clean. Once the exhaust hood is clean, remove each filter from the soak tub and rinse thoroughly with a strong stream of water. In extreme cases, reapply CLR PRO® Heavy Duty Cleaner & Degreaser to the surface to assist in removing stubborn grease. Rinse each filter until clean. Reinstall the filters being sure to follow the manufacturer’s installation directions.
Concrete Floors: Uncoated concrete is a very porous substance. Cleaning oil and dirt from such a surface is a multi-step process that is best done when the spill is fresh. Older spills that have been exposed to sunlight for a period of time are subject to oxidation and may not be completely removed. It may be necessary to repeat the cleaning process to clean away soils that were saturated in the concrete. Allow a minimum of 24 hours for the concrete to dry before repeating the process. Cleaning oil and dirt from industrial floors is best done on a daily basis as part of your regular maintenance schedule. For heavily soiled areas apply CLR PRO® Heavy Duty Cleaner & Degreaser floor cleaner directly to the surface and scrub with the machine until the surface is clean. Be sure to properly mark all areas which are being cleaned with wet floor placards.
Mopping: Industrial floor mopping is easy with CLR PRO® Heavy Duty Cleaner & Degreaser. First, dilute 8:1 water to floor cleaner. Presoak heavily soiled areas using CLR PRO® Heavy Duty Cleaner & Degreaser in a trigger spray. Next, mop the floor area being sure to wring the mop and to change the mop water often to avoid soil transfer. Finally, be sure that all wet areas have been identified with wet floor placards. If the surface feels slippery after cleaning add more water to the floor cleaning solution.
Engines: With the vehicle on a level surface, cover the surrounding area to protect from overspray. Cover the floor under the vehicle with a suitable absorbent material to collect soiled engine drippings. On a COOL engine (never a hot engine) cover all electronic parts including the distributor cover, fuse boxes, alternator, and all other electrical devices with water-tight plastic bags. Secure these bags in position using twist ties or other suitable means. Cover all air intakes and filters using plastic bags and twist ties. Dilute CLR PRO® Heavy Duty Cleaner & Degreaser 1:1. Spray the cleaning solution onto the engine being sure to saturate all surfaces. Using the tip of the brush agitate the cleaner into the more heavily soiled areas. Allow the degreaser to soak on the engine, however, DO NOT ALLOW THE CLEANER TO DRY. Rinse the engine with a strong stream of water. Finally, remove all plastic coverings and start the engine. If the surrounding floor is soiled, clean the area using CLR PRO® Heavy Duty Cleaner & Degreaser following the on label instructions.
CAUTION: Using CLR PRO® Heavy Duty Cleaner & Degreaser on hot or warm aluminum may cause discoloration. NEVER clean a hot engine!
Carpet /Upholstery: Spray the stain with CLR PRO® Heavy Duty Cleaner & Degreaser at 3:1 water to Heavy Duty Cleaner & Degreaser. Allow it to penetrate the stain for 2, or 3 minutes. Use a white cloth or paper towel to blot—never scrub, working from the outside towards the middle. After the stain has been picked up, mist the area with water and blot it up.
Siding: With Pressure Washer: Pre-spray the siding at low pressure with 10:1 water to CLR PRO® Heavy Duty Cleaner & Degreaser. Work from the bottom up. Allow 5 minutes dwell time. Rinse with your pressure washer. Without a pressure washer: Pre-spray the siding with 10:1 water to CLR PRO® Heavy Duty Cleaner & Degreaser using a pump up sprayer. Allow 5-6 minutes dwell time. Treat any specific stains such as tree sap or bird droppings with CLR PRO® Heavy Duty Cleaner & Degreaser full strength. Agitate with a soft bristle brush or broom. Rinse with water.
Can I Use CLR PRO® Heavy Duty Cleaner & Degreaser in my Parts Washer?
