CG 4230 is a solvent cutback which works by depositing a thin, transparent, polar film over the parts after the solvent evaporates. The coating is not easily fractured and possesses residual protective characteristics, even if part of the compound is wiped or rubbed from the metal surface. Due to surface-active characteristics in CG 4230, the coating will creep over uneven or unclean surfaces to insure a continuous film. It can thus be used on porous metals and parts with deep crevices, insuring 100% coverage.
