Darcole Products DNS 166

DNS 166 is a multi-component, chloride-free, water-reducing accelerator for concrete. It promotes higher early and ultimate strengths, as it can be used year-round, even with temperatures below freezing. Concrete using DNS 166, which is placed in colder weather, maintains normal setting times without the introduction of chloride-bearing components. DNS 166 is especially effective to use in prestressed concrete repair, prestressed concrete, concrete bridge decks, pre-cast, site-cast and all steel-reinforced concrete, concrete over metal decking and roof systems, and concrete subject to 20°F temperatures.

Functions: Accelerator, Water Reducing Agent

Features: Anti-Freezing, Faster Stripping, Good Cohesion Development, High Strength, Improved Compressive Strength, Improved Flexural Strength, Improved Plasticity

Features & Benefits

Advantage
  • Reduces bleeding and segregation.
  • Increases early and ultimate strengths both flexural and compressive.
  • Earlier use of structural concrete.
  • Accelerates set time.
  • Aids in prevethe ntion of concrete from freezing at higher dosages.
  • Faster stripping and reuse forms.
  • Provides earlier finishing of slabs.
  • Cohesiveness and plasticity improved, which aids in avoiding honeycombing.
  • Protection time requireD in cold weather is reduced.
  • Rate in which heat is generated during hydration is increased, which promotes earlier setting and finishing strength gain.
  • Superior finish ability on all flatwork and pre-cast surfaces.
Physical Data

DNS 166 does not contain calcium chloride or any chloride-based components.

Applications & Uses

Application

DNS 166 is recommended for use at a dosage rate 14 to 18 ounces per bag for 1% or 3 gallons per 100 gallons of water for 1%.

Limitations

DNS 166 may freeze at temperatures below 5°F. Although freezing does not harm DNS 166, precautions should be taken to protect it from freezing.
