- Benefits
- Frees "frozen" parts.
- Fast acting.
- Instantly loosens rust bond.
- Lubricates as it penetrates.
- Product Highlights
- Four big benefits - Break-A-Way delivers big 4-way action! 1. Penetrates 2. Lubricates 3. Cleans 4. Prevents Rust and Corrosion. Frees nuts, bolts, fittings, and other parts frozen by rust, corrosion, carbon, gum, or sludge.
- Break-A-Way is not an ordinary penetrating oil. Its powerful combination of new penetrating agents, surfactants, and active solvents really get to the bottom of the trouble in short order.
- Versatile - Break-A-Way reduces strain, even on parts that would otherwise end up being sawed or cut with a torch. It leaves a rust resistant film.
- Fast Penetrating - Spray and allow a minute or two for penetration (for difficult binds, re-apply and let soak). The parts will release with minimum effort—makes mechanical work much easier and employees appreciate the "helping hand" of Break-A-Way.
- Contains no CFC's or other ozone depleting substances.
- Authorized by usda for use in federally inspected meat and poultry plants.
Note - Foremost Break-A-Way is not an alkali or acid. It is safe to use on sound painted surfaces and metals of all kinds.

- Application
Recommended for all maintenance men, industrial maintenance, mechanics, machinists, pipe-fitters and plumbers as a penetrating oil to break up and free rusty bolts, nuts, valves and various types of fittings. Its water-displacing properties have also made it useful, when applied as a spray, for drying automotive wiring to eliminate electrical leakage caused by moisture. Since it affords excellent rust preventative protection, many uses for this material are found in these industries: shipping or storing machinery, farm implement parts, vehicles and military equipment.
- Directions
It is readily applied by spraying and may be removed easily by means of a solvent whenever desired. After application, the volatile constituents evaporate, leaving a thin, tough film on the metal surfaces. Rust preventative gives maximum protection when applied only to clean surfaces. The surface does not have to be dry, since a water displacing agent is present. For penetration, spray a liberal application of Foremost 1198 Break-A-Way on the frozen parts and wait approximately 1 to 2 minutes. Tap the treated part lightly, then loosen part gently.
