- Applications
Deuteron LE 829 is designed to be used as an antistatic agent for polyurethane compounds based on polyester and polyether. These compounds are used in the production of soles with antistatic character as required by EN 344 or for special shoes for use in computing and medical areas
- Dosage
An obliging suggestion cannot be given here. The exact dosage depends on the formulation, the density of the foam and the required resistance of the final product. An addition of 2,5 % calculated on the total composition of a polyester compound with a density of 0,6 g/cm³ gives resistance of less than 50 MΩ. This meets the requirement of EN 344 regarding the electrical resistance. The hydroxyl value of Deuteron LE 829 has to be considered to ensure an optimal cross-linking. Further decrease in resistance will be obtained when a higher dosage of Deuteron LE 829 is used. In this case it should be taken into consideration that there might be an impact on the physical properties of the final product. The exact dosage should be determined by own trials.
- Processing
Deuteron LE 829 can be easily added to the compound in its delivery form at room temperature and below. The product has not to be warmed up.
