- Product Highlights
Heavy solvent naphtha in the usual market quality has a naphthalene content of up to 8% by weight. On the basis of recent research, products with higher naphthalene concentrations of ≥ 1% by weight have been classified since November 2005 as being harmful to health, and possibly carcinogenic, and are to be labeled H351 “Suspected of causing cancer”. The toxicological assessment does not apply to products with a naphthalene content of < 1% by weight. Our products heavy solvent naphtha ND, with a naphthalene content of < 1% by weight, and heavy solvent naphtha LN, with a naphthalene content of < 0.1% by weight, as well as any preparations produced with them, are therefore not affected and remain exempt from labeling. The high solvent property of the standard quality remains essentially unaffected, as do the other properties.
