Vitamin E is the collective name for a group of fat-soluble compounds with strong antioxidant properties. In nature, Vitamin E is found in whole grains, nuts, seeds, vegetable oils and green leafy vegetables.

As a powerful antioxidant, Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative damages caused by free radicals. Free radicals are molecules produced by certain biological processes, that contain a free, unshared electron which is believed to contribute to cancer and cardiovascular disease. This is especially true when free radicals attack our DNA.

Another possible benefit to the heart is that Vitamin E can help balance cholesterol levels. Vitamin E is also important for maintaining a healthy immune function.
