Compared to other plastics, PEEK offers the best combination of inertness and heat resistance. The high-temperature polymer retains its original properties even after long-term exposure to steam, ethylene oxide and gamma rays. The extremely low proportion of extractable substances, outgassing and impurities makes polyetheretherketone an excellent material for handling wafers in semiconductor production, among other things.

- Applications
PEEK are used in the medical sector, in semiconductor production, in the offshore sector, in vehicles and in aviation sectors.
- Processing of PEEK
VESTAKEEP® can be processed in the solid state, granules or powder using commercially available machines and tools. The possibilities here are diverse, such as turning, milling, sawing, planing, drilling or water jet cutting. PEEK is also used in semi-finished products and films that also have to withstand high temperatures or are exposed to high mechanical loads. Compared to many other thermoplastics, PEEK usually has a melting point of over 340 °C and is processed using conventional injection molding or extrusion processes.
