Purpose of Use
  • Delta® Window Compact 6.05 is used as a film-forming wood stain for the limited dimensionally stable and dimensionally stable component area both indoors and outdoors.
  • Delta® Window Compact 6.05 is used in a system with our chemically preventative Delta Impregnation Primer 1.06 outdoors on carports, window shutters, exterior windows, exterior doors, etc.
Product Properties
  • Delta® Window Compact 6.05 forms a permeable, elastic, highly weather-resistant protective film on the wood, which is moisture-regulating and water-repellent as well as easy to clean.
  • The transparent pigmentation causes a high UV protective effect with a high transparency of the dried glaze film at the same time, as well as excellent blocking resistance according to guideline 4.
  • Both properties have been tested according to the information sheet "Coating systems for wooden windows" - Institute for Window Technology, Rosenheim.
  • With regard to the safety of toys, the dried glaze film meets the requirements of DIN EN 71: 2002 - Part 3: Migration of certain elements.
Processing Temperature
  • Minimum + 8° C
  • Applies to air, component, material
Substrate Preparation
  • Before use, the wood to be coated must be untreated, free of dust, grease and dirt.
  • The wood moisture content should not be more than 15% and not less than 8% for components with limited dimensional stability.
  • Depending on the component, corresponding guidelines, recommendations and regulations with regard to construction, permissible wood moisture content and wood quality must be observed.
  • This applies in particular to dimensionally stable components.
Processing Data
  • Delta® Window Compact 6.05 must be carefully stirred before use.
  • A color shade check should be carried out before using the product for the first time. If there are different batches of the same color, make sure that the color is the same, if necessary mix batches in one large container.
  • Delta® Window Compact 6.05 can be painted and sprayed (only in closed systems) after careful stirring.
  • In the spraying process, common processes such as airless, air-assisted airless (airmix, airless plus) can be used.
  • A fine dust or particle filter (FFP 2) is recommended for spray application in non-closed systems.
  • Please note the system-related higher application quantities when using airless spray systems.

The Following Table Provides Orientation Values for Spray Application:

Processing Nozzle (mm) Spray pressure (bar) Air pressure (bar) Water addition (%) *
Airless 0.23 100 - 140 Omitted Undiluted
Airmix, Airless plus 0.28 50 - 80 0.5 - 1 Until 5%

*The values given are guide values. The water should only be added with tap water.

  • Under no circumstances may rinsing water, washing water, thinners or other liquids be added.
  • Other uses such as dipping or flooding cannot be recommended due to the thixotropic properties.
  • Processing in direct sunlight, precipitation or high humidity is not permitted, as important film properties are adversely affected.
  • Processing on surfaces that are installed horizontally outdoors, are exposed to constant wet stress or high mechanical stress (e.g. floors) is not permitted.
  • Dried material on tools can be cleaned with universal or nitro thinners. In this case, please note the sometimes strong dissolving power of thinners during cleaning work, depending on the material to be cleaned.
Consumption Data
  • Consumption depends on the type of processing and the type of component.
  • Without considering job-specific losses, the consumption is between 150 - 200 ml / m² / application, depending on the type of application, corresponding to a yield of 5-7 m² / L / application.
  • With Delta® Window Compact 6.05, wet film thicknesses of up to 300 µm can be applied to vertical surfaces using the airless spray method.
  • However, we recommend not to apply more than 150 - 200 µm wet film per application in order to achieve perfect drying, recoatability and good blocking resistance of the film.
  • The required application quantities of the wet film depending on the calculated (theoretical) Dry film thickness are given in the following table.
Dry Film Thickness Yield Consumption
µm m² / L ml / m²
30 approx. 11 approx. 90
40 approx. 8 approx. 120
50 approx. 6.5 approx. 150
60 approx. 5.5 approx. 180
Drying
  • Dust drying is less than 1 hour with practical application under normal conditions (20° C / ventilation). After 4 - 6 hours you can work on yourself.
  • Please note that unfavorable conditions such as high humidity, low temperatures of the ambient air and/or of the wooden component to be coated and low air movement delayed drying of the glaze.
  • The drying times are then to be extended accordingly.
  • When used in industrial paint shops, the relevant parameters must be determined on site.
