- How to Use
- DOWSIL CE-1874 Microemulsion is a non-ionic emulsion which is easy to incorporate into shampoos and leave-in conditioners. It is recommended to add the emulsion at the end of production, at temperatures below 40°C with continuous mixing.
- Recommended use levels are 1.0 - 5.0% active silicone for hair care formulations. Polymeric thickeners may be needed to achieve appropriate formulation viscosity in shampoos.
- Thickening Shampoos Containing DOWSIL CE-1874 Microemulsion
In order to thicken standard shampoo systems containing DOWSIL CE-1874 Microemulsion, it is recommended to use a polymeric thickener. In the graph below, common thickeners were used to increase the viscosity of a standard shampoo at use levels ranging from 0.1 - 0.5 wt.%. Thickener use levels can be adjusted to meet specific viscosity needs.
