Features & Benefits

Benefits
  • Reduction of viscosity
  • Color strength enhancement
  • Gloss increase
  • Longer storage stability
General Guidelines

In general, it is advised increase pigment loading with Spredox dispersing agents in the formulation. This is because Spredox products lower intermolecular forces, leading to significant viscosity reduction.

If viscosity is too low, proper grinding will not occur. It is thus recommended to increase pigment loading to lift the millbase to proper milling viscosity. Higher pigment loading also means higher letdown output, which increases the overall production output.

Applications & Uses

Ink & Toner Type
Dosage
Pigment % Dosage
Organic pigments 15-20%
Inorganic pigments 10-15%
TiO2/Filler 1-2%
Carbon black 25-40%
High surface carbon black 40-80%

Dosage

Based on extensive testing, there is an ideal dosage level for dispersing agents in a formulation. This can also be expressed as % Dispersing Agent on the Weight of Pigment (DAOWP).
