USER SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS
Users should: 1) Wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet.
2) Remove clothing/PPE immediately if pesticide gets inside. Then wash thoroughly and put on clean clothing.
3) Remove PPE immediately after handling this product. Wash the outside of gloves before removing. As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change into clean clothing.
- Use Information
PHITICIDE is a systemic product containing Mono- and Dibasic phos-phites. The Phosphonic ion is effective in controlling Downy mildew, Brown rot, Foot rot and other diseases caused by Phytophthora, Pythium and other related fungi by activating the plant’s natural resistance mechanisms. When used in a complete Integrated Pest Management (IPM) disease control program with good cultural prac-tices, this product will provide control of the listed diseases. To achieve the best results in disease control spraying, initiate before signs or symptoms of the disease are present, or when the disease first appears or environmental conditions are conducive to disease development.
- Direction For Use
It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Do not apply this product in a way that will contact workers or other persons, either directly or through drift. Only protected handlers may be in the area during application. For any requirements specific to your State or Tribe, consult the agency responsible for pesticide regulation.
- Agricultural Use Requirements
Use this product only in accordance with its labeling and with the Worker Protection Standard, 40 CFR Part 170. This standard con-tains requirements for the protection of agricultural workers on farms, forests, nurseries, greenhouses and handlers of agricultural pesticides. It contains requirements for training, decontamination, notification and emergency assistance. It also contains specific instructions and exceptions pertaining to the statements on this label about Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Restricted Entry Interval (REI). The requirements in this box only apply to uses of this product that are covered by the Worker Protection Standard.
Do not enter or allow worker entry into treated areas during the restricted entry interval of 48 hours. For greenhouse uses, do not enter or allow worker entry into treated areas during the REI of 24 hours.
For at least seven days following the application of Copper-contain-ing products in greenhouses:
• at least one container or station designed specifically for flushing eyes is available in operating condition with the WPS-required decontamination supplies for workers entering the area treated with Copper-containing products,
• workers are informed orally, in a manner they can understand:
– that residues in the treated area may be highly irritating to their eyes,
– that they should take precautions, such as refraining from rub-bing their eyes, to keep the residues out of their eyes,
– that if they do get residues in their eyes, they should immedi-ately flush their eyes with the eye flush container that is located with the decontamination supplies and
– how to operate the eye flush container or eye flush station.
PPE required for early entry to treated areas that is permitted under the Worker Protection Standard and that involves contact with any-thing that has been treated, such as plants, soil or water is: Coveralls, chemical-resistant gloves made of any waterproof material, shoes plus socks and protective eyewear.
- Non-Agricultural Use Requirements
The requirements in this box apply to uses of this product that are not within the scope of the WPS for agricultural pesticides, 40 CFR part 170. The WPS applies when this product is used to produce agricultural plants on farms, forests, nurseries or greenhouses. Do not enter treated area until spray has dried.
- Mixing And Applications Instructions
Apply this product with properly calibrated ground sprayer, aerial equipment or sprinkler system. Always apply this product in sufficient water for thorough coverage. Fill the mix tank to one-half capacity before adding the required amount of this product. Add the remain-ing amount of water while continuously agitating the mixture. Do not apply when conditions favor drift from target area or wind speed is greater than 10 mph.
Mixture is to be applied to plant foliage, unless directed otherwise in the application rate table. Good agitation must be provided during the entire application period. Spray equipment must be cleaned thor-oughly before and after applications.
Ground Application
Apply the specified rate of this product in sufficient water for thorough coverage of foliage or as stated for optimum disease control.
Aerial Application
Apply the specified rate of this product in a minimum of 3 gallons of water per acre unless otherwise stated.

Hazards to Humans and Domestic Animals
CAUTION: Causes moderate eye irritation. Harmful if inhaled. Avoid breathing vapor or spray mist. Harmful if swallowed or absorbed through the skin. Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)
Applicators and other handlers must wear: Long-sleeved shirt and long pants, waterproof gloves and shoes plus socks.
Follow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE.
If no such instructions are available, use detergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE separate from other laundry.
- Engineering Controls
When handlers use closed systems, enclosed cabs or air-craft in a manner that meets the requirements listed in the Worker Protection Standard (WPS) for agricultural pesticides [40 CFR 170.240 (d) (4-5)], the handler PPE requirements may be reduced or modified as specified in the WPS.
- Environmental Hazards
For terrestrial uses, do not apply directly to water, to areas where sur-face water is present or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment wash-water or rinsate. This pesticide is toxic to fish and aquatic organisms. (For packaging in 5 gallons or more): Do not discharge effluent containing this product into lakes, streams, ponds, estuaries, oceans or other waters unless in accordance with the requirements of a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) permit and the permitting authority has been notified in writing prior to dis-charge. Do not discharge effluent containing this product to sewer systems without previously notifying the local sewage treatment plant authority. For guidance, contact your State Water Board or Regional Office of the EPA.

- Storage And Disposal
Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal.
PESTICIDE STORAGE: Store in original container in secured dry storage area. Prevent cross-contamination with other pesticides and fertilizers. Do not store above 100ºF for extended periods of time. Storage below 20ºF may result in formation of crystals. If product crystallizes, store at 50ºF to 70ºF and agitate to re-dissolve crystals. If container is damaged or spill occurs, use product immediately or dispose of product and damaged container as indicated below.
PESTICIDE DISPOSAL: Pesticide wastes are toxic. Improper disposal of excess pesticide, spray mixture or rinsate is a violation of Federal law. If these wastes cannot be disposed of by use according to label instructions, contact your State Pesticide or Environmental Control Agency or the Hazardous Waste Representative at the nearest EPA Regional Office for guidance.
CONTAINER HANDLING:
Nonrefillable Container (rigid material; < 5 gallons): Nonrefillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container. Offer for recycling, if available. Triple rinse container (or equivalent) promptly after emptying. Triple rinse as follows: Empty the remaining contents into application equipment or a mix tank and drain for 10 seconds after the flow begins to drip. Fill the container one-fourth full with water and recap. Shake for 10 seconds. Pour rinsate into application equipment or a mix tank or store rinsate for later use or disposal. Drain for 10 seconds after the flow begins to drip. Repeat this procedure two more times. Then offer for recycling if available or puncture and dispose of in a sanitary landfill or by incineration.
Nonrefillable Container (rigid material; > 5 gallons up to < 250 gallons): Nonrefillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container. Offer for recycling, if available. Triple rinse container (or equivalent) promptly after emptying. Triple rinse as follows: Empty the remaining contents into application equipment or a mix tank. Fill the container one-fourth full with water. Replace and tighten closures. Tip container on its side and roll it back and forth, ensuring at least one complete revolution, for 30 seconds. Stand the container on its end and tip it back and forth several times. Turn the container over onto its other end and tip it back and forth several times. Empty the rinsate into application equipment or a mix tank or store rinsate for later use or disposal. Repeat this procedure two more times. Then offer for recycling if available or puncture and dispose of in a sanitary landfill, or by incineration.
Refillable Container (≥ 250 gallons & Bulk): Refillable container. Refill this container with pesticide only. Do not reuse this container for any other purpose. Cleaning the container before final disposal is the responsibility of the person disposing of the container. Cleaning before refilling is the responsibility of the refiller. To clean the container before final disposal, empty the remaining contents from this container into application equipment or mix tank. Fill the container about 10% full with water. Agitate vigorously or recirculate water with the pump for 2 minutes. Pour or pump rinsate into application equipment or rinsate collection system. Repeat this rinsing procedure two more times. Then offer for recycling if available or puncture and dispose of in a sanitary landfill, or by incineration or by other procedures approved by state and local authorities.
