Dynacast Industrial Products Isoprene Rubber - IR has very similar properties to natural rubber as Isoprene rubber is a synthetic natural rubber. This is the same polymer as natural rubber - but made synthetically. Isoprene rubber is essentially similar in properties to natural rubber but it may be somewhat weaker.

Dynacast Industrial Products Natural Rubber - NR is a general purpose rubber with the optimum balance of physical properties essential for high performance engineering applications. It has a long fatigue life and high strength even without reinforcing fillers and is the first choice for spring applications. It can be compounded to give a wide range of hardness. Good low temperature flexibility, excellent elasticity with strong ensile and good elongation. Its chief disadvantage is its poor oil resistance and its lack of resistance to oxygen and ozone, although these latter disadvantages can be ameliorated by chemical protection.

Dynacast Industrial Products Polyacrylate Rubber - ACM

Dynacast Industrial Products Polyacrylate Rubber - ACM has good resistance at normal and elevated temperatures to oil and oxygen. ACM has excellent ozone and weathering resistance.

Dynacast Industrial Products Chloroprene Rubber-CR has several types of polychloroprene. Chloroprene rubber mechanical properties are generally inferior to natural rubber but with superior chemical properties. Over time crystallization results in hardening at temperatures about -10 degree C. CR has very good resistance to ozone. It also has good flame retardance and good tackiness.

Dynacast Industrial Products Silicone Rubber - Q has good high and low temperature resistance and good electrical properties. The outstanding property of Silicone rubber is the very wide temperature range. Typically the range is -60C to 200C and above. Silicone rubber does not have very good physical properties, but the properties they do have are retained to high temperatures. Beware corrosion if acetic acid is present as a curing agent.

Dynacast Industrial Products Butyl Rubber - BUTYI has a very high impermeability to gasses and is used for the inner tubes of pneumatic tires, and in vacuum and high pressure applications. It has an unusually broad loss peak so that, despite having a glass transition temperature as low as -65C, it displays high damping at ambient temperatures. Butyl Rubber has good ozone, weathering, heat and chemical resistance. It is not suitable for use in contact with mineral oils. Butyl rubber has low resilience at ambient temperatures and is suitable for damping applications.

Dynacast Industrial Products Fluorocarbon Rubber - FKM has high temperature resistance, good oil resistance, chemical products resistance and flame resistance. FKM's low temperature properties and elasticity are poor.

Polymer Name:Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer (EPDM)

Dynacast Industrial Products Ethylene-Propylene Diene Monomer - EPDM is excellent for water and steam applications. EPDM is similar to Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) but has improved resistance to atmospheric aging, heat oxidization and ozone up to about 150C. Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer has excellent electrical properties and good chemical resistance.
