EcoMul is added to invert oil drilling muds to provide an oil-in-water emulsion. It emulsifies water and helps oil wet solids. It provides high temperature emulsion and rheological stability for drilling, spotting, packer and workover fluids.
- Recommended Treatment
EcoMul systems are prepared by mixing the proper amount of electrolytes, EcoMul and lime to form a tight emulsion. Standard System:
- EcoMul is maintained in concentrations of 7 - 10 lb/bbl (20 - 28.5 kgs/m3).
- Lite System: EcoMul is maintained in concentrations of 3 - 5 lbs/bbl (8.5 - 14 kgs/m3).
As the temperature increases more EcoMul is required.
