Recommended Uses

ERS-100 can be used as a protective coating over smooth asphalt roofs, metal roofs and cured solvent borne primers and coatings. It can also be used with reinforcing fabrics over medium to severely alligatored asphalt flood coats and as dampproofing of masonry and concrete surfaces.

Installation

  • Ready to apply. Do not heat. Do not thin.
  • Surface Preparation: All work surfaces must be clean, damp or dry, but free of standing water, dirt, dust, debris, oils, loose and/or embedded gravel, unadhered coatings, deteriorated membranes, and other contaminants that may result in a surface that is not sound. All necessary repairs must be completed before application to ensure optimum performance. Extremely dusty or dry surfaces should be primed with Ecology ERS-301 Primer.
  • Application (reinforced): Apply to the properly prepared surface at a rate of 1-2 gallons per square. Embed the Ecology reinforcement (starter course), brushing the reinforcement into the coating. Assure that the reinforcement conforms to surface and no bridging or fish mouthing occurs. Apply another coat of adhesive. If desired, embed second course of reinforcement. overlapping the reinforcements. After the final reinforcement is applied, cover with the coating at a rate of 1-2 gallons per square.
  • Application (non-reinforced): Apply to the prepared surface at a rate of 2-3 gallons per square. To avoid pinholes and ensure maximum performance, application of two coats, each at 1/2 the total coverage rate and applied perpendicular to one another, are recommended.
  • Clean-Up: Immediately rinse/flush equipment and tools with mineral spirits after use, exercising all flammable liquid precautions. Use waterless hand cleaner on skin.
