Technical Details & Test Data
- Overview
Surfactants are a key ingredient in many personal care products, serving as foaming agents, emulsifiers, and wetting agents. In this study some of the surfactant properties of a new, amino acid derived surfactant, Arginine Lauraminopropionate (INCI), are presented. Arginine Lauraminopropionate (ALP) is a salt free, plant derived, salt-free amphoteric surfactant with potential applications in personal care products. PEL-AMPH ALP behaves as a cationic surfactant in acidic systems, whereas, in alkaline systems, it has anionic properties. The structure shown here represents ALP at the pH range typical of personal care products (pH 5-8).
