PEL-PHOS™ SG is cetyl alcohol, alkoxylated and phosphated. With its higher molecular weight and its weak anionic nature, it is very mild to the skin when formulated to pH 4-9. PEL-PHOS™ SG provides conditioning, emulsification, thickening, solubilization and is also useful for the adjustment of the pH of both hair and skin cleansing products. Because it is a phosphate ester, it acts as a buffer to stabilize pH. It is used in conditioning shampoos where it improves wet combing and enhances the manageability of dry hair. It is compatible with both cationic and anionic surfactants and is not very hydrophobic or cationic, like many conditioning agents, so it does not build up on the hair. When formulated with cationics, such as in hair conditioners, PEL-PHOS™ SG will provide viscosity enhancement to formulations.

PEL-PHOS™ 583 a water soluble phosphate ester that exhibits both hydrotrope and detergent properties. It is an ideal ingredient for coupling nonionics into moderately built, alkaline detergent systems. It finds particular use for metal cleaning. It is compatible with the typical builders used including pyrophosphates, silicates, carbonates, etc.

PEL-SIL™ 648 reduces the surface tension of aqueous solutions significantly lower than conventional nonionic surfactants can. Even at concentrations as low as 0.01 percent, PEL-SIL™ 648 will reduce surface tension below 23 dynes/cm. It produces very rapid wetting and spreading on hard-to-wet surfaces such as waxy leaves. PEL-SIL™ 648 allows complete coverage with herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and other agricultural chemicals. It is a low molecular weight nonionic silicone polyether surfactant, developed to improve the wetting, spreading and penetration of agricultural chemicals. It may be used as an ingredient in pesticide products, or as a tank-mix adjuvant for foliar applied chemicals. PEL-SIL™ 648 meets the requirements of US EPA regulation 40 CFR 180.910 regarding “tolerances and exemption from tolerances for pesticide chemicals in or on raw agricultural commodities.” It is approved for both food and nonfood use.

PEL-SIL™ 9315 has a wide range of applications in polyurethane and in personal care products including, hair sprays and other leave-in hair products, shampoos, skin care lotions & shaving soaps. It is stable in neutral or mildly acid or alkaline aqueous solutions. Its stability is reduced by strong acid or alkali. PEL-SIL™ 9315 is used as a surfactant in the production of rigid urethane foams. It is not compatible on the isocyanate side and must be added with the polyol. It exhibits excellent compatibility with most polyol premixes.

PEL-AMPH™ CSF is a amphoteric surfactant useful in the formulation of both personal care and industrial cleaners. Due to its mildness and excellent coupling properties, PEL-AMPH™ CSF is used to couple conditioning agents in shampoos. Its ability to couple nonionic surfactants into formulations with high levels of electrolyte makes PEL-AMPH™ CSF very useful for industrial cleaners. PELAMPH CSF is suggested for products where the presence of sodium chloride would be detrimental to the performance of the final product or would cause corrosion problems because the chloride level is essentially nil. It is stable over a broad pH range and is the surfactant of choice in high electrolyte systems.

PEL-AMPH™ ODP is a 50% active aqueous solution of a low molecular weight amphoteric surfactant. It acts as an effective hydrotrope to couple nonionic surfactants into systems containing high levels of electrolyte. PEL-AMPH™ ODP is a low foamer that provides good detergency in systems that require high cloud points. It is stable in both highly acid and alkaline systems offering utility in acid cleaners and heavily built detergents.
