Regulatory & Compliance
- Certifications & Compliance
- Chemical Inventories
- Quality Standards
- Specifications
When extruded and cured consistent with standard safe wire and cable industry practices, cables insulated with Excelene 5002 insulation will meet or exceed the requirements as specified in the following standards:
SAE J1127 SGR
ISO 6722-1- Certification
- Certified Test Results including physical test data are included with each shipment.
Technical Details & Test Data
- Processing
Excelene 5002 is engineered for processing on conventional extrusion equipment. Use of a L/D 15:1 to 24:1 extruder with a single flight, general purpose, tapered screw for proper homogenization and fluxing of Excelene 5002 compound is recommended to obtain optimal output and properties. The compound supplied is in the cleanest state and is of the highest quality; however, the use of a breaker plate with a screen pack of approximately 20/40 or 20/60 mesh is recommended for optimal rheological flow and steady back pressure.
Pre-drying of the compound is not necessary, provided that the compound has been stored unopened in a cool, dry area.
Packaging & Availability
- Packaging Type
- Packaging
- 1,750 pounds (794 Kg) per box, sealed.
Storage & Handling
- Handling
- To ensure health and safety, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are available and should be consulted prior to use.
- Storage
- Excelene 5002 containers should be stored at temperatures below 50C (120F) in a dry area to avoid massing of pellets. Product is recommended for use within 12 months.
