MEADOWESTOLIDE® is a unique, functionally significant derivative of Meadowfoam Seed Oil. The development of this estolide represents a new level of advanced ingredient technology. The estolide is a dimeric molecule, which is structurally sophisticated and functionally active.  MEADOWESTOLIDE® provides measureable and meaningful consumer benefits. In hair, the estolide improves intra-fiber moisture retention and thereby imparts protection from thermal damage, while restoring the elasticity and reducing the coefficient of friction of the hair cuticle surface to prevent mechanical damage.  In skincare systems, MEADOWESTOLIDE® helps to adjust the hydration levels of the interstitial spaces and provides significant moisturization benefits.  These benefits are often perceived as softer, more pliant tissue. Initial investigations suggest that the estolide will prove to be a very important agent in protecting skin from the damaging effects of a variety of common causes. MEADOWESTOLIDE® has been incorporated into decorative cosmetics where significant attributes were observed including improved elegance in product texture and, in the case of pigment delivery, considerably better color pay-off”.

MEADOWLACTONE® contains a cyclical lactone ring derived from a 5-hydroxy moiety on the Meadowfoam fatty acid, in a Meadowfoam fatty acid matrix. The lactone ring confers a hydrophilic nature to that terminal end of the molecule while the long fatty acid chain confers lipophilic attributes to the rest of the molecule.  MEADOWLACTONE® has amphoteric properties, since the lactone ring will open and close as a function of pH and the ionic character of the environment.  MEADOWLACTONE® can help provide balanced moisturization, to improve tone, elasticity and help reduce dryness of the skin.  MEADOWLACTONE® can help reduce irritancy caused by some products.

Thixcin

Thixcin® R PC is a non-hygroscopic derivative of castor oil that imparts a high degree of thixotropic thickening in cosmetics mineral, vegetable and silicones oils, as well as low-polarity aliphatic solvents. Thixcin® R PC provides thixotropy and imparts good pay-off in stick products; improves product stability when used in the oil phase of emulsions, and can be used as a binder in pressed powder formulations.

BENTONE GEL ISD V provides thermostable viscosity control of the emulsion's oil phase, improves application properties, enhances skin-feel by masking greasy or tacky components and imparts a pleasant residual silkiness to the skin.

This grade is designed to impart rheological control and suspension to organic- and silicone-based cosmetics. BENTONE GEL VS-5 PC V is a specially prepared dispersion of an organically modified hectorite in a D5 silicone.

BENTONE GEL GTCC V is particularly useful in anhydrous systems, emulsions and can be used in cold process systems. It provides thermostable viscosity control of the emulsion's oil phase, improves application properties, enhances skin-feel by masking greasy or tacky components and imparts a pleasant residual silkiness to the skin.

FANCOL CB is Cocoa Butter USP/NF grade. It is a skin conditioning occlusive agent and may be used as a skin protectant in OTC drug products.

ALOXICOLL® type L is a standard antiperspirant active. Its efficacy is due to the precipitation of basic Aluminum Chlorohydrate polymer complexes in the upper part of the sweat glands. These polymers can be measured by HPLC. A typical HPLC trace for ALOXICOLL® L can be seen below, indicating the characteristic polymer distribution from and 1 to band 4.
