Features & Benefits
- Benefits of Brix-Builder
Brix-Builder is ideal for use as part of a program devised to reduce the alternate bearing nature of many tree fruit and nut crops by enhancing the size of the second crop after a good harvest. It has been successfully tested for use in promoting early grassgrowth on golf greens under low temperatures and may be used for greens regeneration throughout the year. Brix-Builder will improve flavor in some salad crops as well as enhancing early stage performance in flowering plants. More recently Brix-Builder has demonstrated the ability to improve nutrient metabolisation, particularly in relation to sugar production. It does this by a combination of providing intermediates for growth and re-balancing the plant with a bias towards sugar production. Once fruits are formed it enhances the ripening process leading to sugar accumulation and higher brix levels.
- General Information
For best results apply Brix-Builder in the coolest parts of the day – early morning and in the evening. It is not advised to spray Brix-Builder when temperatures exceed 30o C or in full sun. The pH of spray water is best between 5 and 7 for the efficacy of Brix-Builder. Use with Engage Reactor if pH is too high. Apply in sufficient water to ensure thorough and uniform coverage. 400-1000 liters of water is suggested. Please adhere to application rate – Do not over apply. Brix-Builder is designed for foliar application and is compatible for application with most crop protection and nutritional products. It is however advisable to conduct compatibility tests before use with new products or multiple product mixes. Do not use Brix-Builder with dinitro compounds, dormant oil, Bordeaux mixture, spray lime, or highly alkaline spray materials.

- Use
Brix-Builder is created to lift brix levels in fruiting crops and will do so with low dose rates and minimal number of applications. Brix-Builder may be used to stimulate growth in any tired or under performing crops. For use in crops to boost flower health and strength. For use in increasing overall crop health including resistance to biotic stresses. Immediately following harvest can be used to improve plant energy (carbohydrate) storage before crop winter dormancy to ensure a productive following crop. New trials data has proven Brix-Builder’s ability to aid crop recovery from both abiotic and biotic stress.

- Recommendations
Crop No of applications and timing Almond, Pistachio and Tree Fruit ‘Alternate’ bearing situation can be improved. To achieve the desired improvement in yield during the ‘low’ year, Brix-Builder should be applied during the year when the naturally ‘high’ yields can be expected. This work should be carried out using a tank mix application with Urea at 10 kg/ha. Apply 2 to 4 liters of Brix-Builder per 500 liters of water and ensure good coverage, at 2 timings: early to mid-June and mid to late July. Apple and Pear Apply 1.0 liter of Brix-Builder per hectare, at 2-4 timings: starting at petal fall and repeat at 7 to 10 day intervals Melons and Cucumbers Apply 1.0 liter of Brix-Builder per hectare, shortly after transplanting then repeat every 10 to 14 days up until harvest. Strawberries, Tomatoes and Peppers Apply 0.5-1.0 liters/ha when plants begin to blossom. Repeat at 7-10 day intervals during growing season. Beans and Peas Fresh/dry: Apply 2 liters/ha at sight of first bloom. Citrus Crops Apply 2.0 liters/ha when trees begin to bloom repeat after 10-14 days. Sports Turf Apply 2 liters/ha before grass growth ceases in the autumn to improve overwintering and robustness of trafficked areas, a further 2.0 liters/ha in the spring will accelerate early growth.
