Immunomodulant and Radical Scavenger Properties

EKINact® - Immunomodulant And Radical Scavenger PropertiesEffect of EKINact® on the phagocytic activity of murine RAW 264.7 macrophages after
24 h of treatment. Each value represents the mean ± EMS (n = 6).
*** p <0.001 indicates a statistically significant increase in activity compared to control.

EKINact® strongly increases macrophage phagocytosis in a range of 30% - 40% compared to control cells.

Inflammatory Conditions

EKINact® - Inflammatory Conditions

EKINact® counteracts the phagocytosis reduction and the increase of Nitric Oxide (NO):

  • EKINact® increases macrophage phagocytosis of approximately 20% vs the basal condition (250 μg/ml);
  • EKINact® reduces NO levels induced by LPS of approximately 15%.
Radical Scavenger Activity

EKINact® - Radical Scavenger ActivityScavenger activity of EKINact® towards the ABTS radical. Each value represents the mean ± EMS (n = 6).
*** p <0.001 indicates a statistically significant reduction in radical levels compared to the control.

EKINact® has good radical scavenger activity and protects cells from oxidative damage.
