Immunomodulant and Radical Scavenger Properties

24 h of treatment. Each value represents the mean ± EMS (n = 6).

EKINact® strongly increases macrophage phagocytosis in a range of 30% - 40% compared to control cells.

Inflammatory Conditions

EKINact® counteracts the phagocytosis reduction and the increase of Nitric Oxide (NO):

• EKINact® increases macrophage phagocytosis of approximately 20% vs the basal condition (250 μg/ml);
• EKINact® reduces NO levels induced by LPS of approximately 15%.

Radical Scavenger Activity

Scavenger activity of EKINact® towards the ABTS radical. Each value represents the mean ± EMS (n = 6).
