Europiren Brand

Supplier:Europiren
Products:8
Ecopiren is a magnesium hydroxide which is milled and classified in a special way that could be used as an effective mineral flame retardant and smoke absorber for polymer compositions. Using advanced processing techniques flame (extrusion, molding under pressure) retardants of Ecopiren trademark can be easily processed into the final polymeric products together with various kinds of plastics (polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC). Products of Ecopiren brand are non-toxic, safe to use and meet all legal requirements of environmental protection.

Knowde Brand Highlights

Characteristics
  • accurate granulometric distribution of particle
  • does not contain atoms of halogen/halogen-free
  • non-toxic
  • more effective smoke absorber than antimony trioxide
  • predetermined chemical composition
  • high whiteness
  • high processing — more than 300°C
  • low abrasiveness (in comparison with aluminum trihydrate (ATH))
  • more cost effective than aluminum trihydrate Al (OH)
Applications
  • Ecopiren in PVC wire and cable formulations - PVC is one of the most commonly used polymers worldwide. Although PVC already has a certain level of intrinsic flame retardancy, due to high flammability of added plasticizers it is still necessary to add flame retardants to meet most international fire standards. Examples are low voltage cable applications and wire insulations.

  • Ecopiren in polyolefin wire and cable formulations - During recent years environmental standards and regulations are becoming stricter. Therefore in some areas PVC due to its high chlorine content can’t be used. In such cases halogen-free compositions based on polyolefin are used.

  • Ecopiren in highly filled compounds - Mineral fillers like aluminum hydroxide (ATH) and magnesium hydroxide (MDH) are often used in LSZH (low smoke zero halogen) polyolefin formulations to provide flame retardant properties for highly filled applications.

  • Ecopiren as ATH replacement - Mineral fillers like aluminum trihydrate (ATH) and magnesium hydroxide (MDH) are often used in LSZH (low smoke zero halogen) formulations to provide flame retardant (FR) properties in products for a variety of end use applications. In many of these applications, Ecopiren is the better choice.
