Carbon Fabrics for Composites: Fabric Development Inc (FDI) has provided a wide range of Carbon Fabrics to the composites industry since 1972. We serve diverse markets such as Aerospace & Defense, Infrastructure, Medical, Marine, Sporting Goods and Industrial Products. Our capabilities and operational flexibility allows us to provide high rate production volumes as well as small run sizes to support initial prototype development. At FDI we have produced over two thousand fabric styles with various fiber types and fabric architectures. A small subset of our typical stock carbon fabric styles is shown below. As a trusted source for high quality carbon fabrics we are a qualified supplier on all major aircraft programs and AS9100 certified.

FDI Carbon Fabrics Capabilities:

  • Standard, Intermediate, High and Ultra-High Modulus (Pitch and Pan)
  • Fine denier to large tow fiber – 0.5K to 50K Yarns
  • Co-mingled and Twisted fibers
  • Conventional Fabrics – Plain Weave, Twill, 4HS, 5HS, 8HS
  • Specialty Fabrics – Bias (+/- 45), Uni Directional, Tapes, Multi Layer, Leno Scrim • Carbon/Carbon Fabrics – High end/pick count 1k fabrics
