Its industrial activity in the manufacture of paints, varnishes and glues began in the parent company ( SPD – Sociedade Portuense de Drogas, SA ) founded in 1953 and later continued by Facotil.

The industrial unit and the company's headquarters are located in a total area of ​​70,000 m 2 , of which about 25,000 m 2 are covered, owned by the SPD group, located in Gondomar (about 10 km from the city of Porto).

In 1997, Facotil started producing thermosetting powder paints, currently having an installed production capacity of approximately 1,800 ton/year.

In 1998, it obtained the approval of the “Qualicoat” quality brand license for “thermosetting powder paints” products. Continuing and reinforcing its quality policy, in 2003 Facotil achieved the status of a company with Quality Management System certification, according to the ISO 9001:2000 standard."

The TE01 Powder coatings are thermosetting paints, which means that when heated, they transform irreversibly into a very hard adherent plastic material with a high index of resistance to most chemical agents, resulting in high-quality coatings in a single layer that can be shiny, satin, matte, textured, granite, transparent, metallic, and so on. Its physical composition is 100 percent dry extract, which can be applied using various electrostatic processes on a variety of supports (metal, glass, ceramics, and so on), followed by a predetermined stuffing.

It has a remarkable anti-stain action when repainting, preventing its migration. The finishing must be done with wall paints.
