Mycotoxins are toxins produced by fungi before or after harvest, or during storage. They induce a large variety of diseases called mycotoxicoses. Most of the mycotoxins are very stable and can resist changes in temperatures or any other storage and processing conditions. Therefore, they can be found in feeds or foods produced with contaminated raw materials.

Calmin is manufactured from calcareous marine algae, which is harvested from clean, unpolluted waters off the coasts of Ireland and Iceland. Thanks to its unique honeycombed physical structure and large surface area, Calmin breaks down slowly. As Calmin breaks down it releases calcium and magnesium.
