General Information
  • CILIS PLUSTM Plant Growth Regulator Solution is a plant growth regulator for use on apples and pears as a post-bloom thinning and fruit sizing agent. Individual fruit weight may increase in some varieties but this is dependant on fruit set and the physiological condition of the trees. Return bloom may be increased in the year following CILIS PLUSPlant Growth Regulator Solution application.

Directions For Use
  • Do not apply by air.
  • CILIS PLUS Plant Growth Regulator Solution should be applied using conventional spray application equipment. Do not apply this product using irrigation equipment.
  • Airblast application: Do not direct spray above trees to be treated. Turn off outward pointing nozzles at row ends and outer rows. Do not apply when wind speed is greater than 16 km/h at the application site as measured outside of the treatment area on the upwind side
  • The effectiveness of CILIS PLUSPlant Growth Regulator Solution depends on the variety of the target apple or peartrees.
  • The thinning effectiveness ofCILIS PLUSPlant Growth Regulator Solution is increased by:
  1. High temperatures before and after application (21-24oC)
  2. Disease and physiological stress of target trees. Apply reduced rates to low vigor trees, or trees under stress from drought, winter injury, etc
  • The effectiveness of CILIS PLUSPlant Growth Regulator Solution is reduced by
  1. Low temperatures before and after application. Do not apply this product if the temperature is below 16 oC.
  2. Rainfall immediately after application.
  3. pH above 8. This product performs best when the pH is 5-6.5. A buffer or pH enhancer may be used for this purpose.
  • Direct 80% of spray to the upper 2/3rds of the tree structure
  • Use a properly calibrated sprayer to ensure uniform and complete coverage of all foliage and developing fruit without run-off. Spray volume should be adjusted for tree size and density
  • CILIS PLUSPlant Growth Regulator Solution works best if climatic conditions allow and extended drying period. Apply in the morning or evening when temperatures are lower and humidity tends to be higher than during the day
  • Do not apply tank-mix combinations unless previous experience indicates the mixture is effective and will not result in application difficulties or plant injury. Tank mixes should be tested on a small scale before adoption as a general practice
  • Do NOT apply during periods of dead calm. Avoid application of this product when winds are gusty. DO NOT direct spray above plants to be treated. Turn off outward pointing nozzles at row ends and outer rows. DO NOT apply when wind speed is greater than 16 km/h at the application site as measured outside of the treatment area on the upwind side.

  • Harmful if swallowed or absorbed through skin. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use.
  • Wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, shoes plus socks, chemical-resistant gloves and goggles or a face shield during mixing, loading, application, clean-up, and repair activities.
  • Users should wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet
  • Apply only when the potential for drift to areas of human habitation or areas of human activity such as houses, cottages, schools, and recreational areas is minimal. Take into consideration wind speed, wind direction, temperature, application equipment, and sprayer settings.
  • Do not re-enter or allow re-entry into treated areas until 12 hours after application
  • Do not contaminate feed or food
Environmental Precautions
  • Do not apply directly to aquatic habitats (such as lakes, rivers, sloughs, ponds, prairie potholes, creeks, marshes, streams, reservoirs or wetlands) and estuarine/marine habitats. Do not contaminate the above aquatic habitats when cleaning and rinsing spray equipment or containers.
  • Toxic to certain beneficial insects. Minimize spray drift to reduce harmful effects on beneficial insects in habitats next to the application site such as hedgerows and woodland.
  • DO NOT contaminate irrigation or drinking water supplies or aquatic habitats by cleaning of equipment or disposal of wastes.

  • STORAGE : Avoid contamination of seed, feed and foodstuffs.
  • DISPOSAL :
  1. Do not reuse this container for any purpose. This is a recyclable container, and is to be disposed of at a container collection site. Contact your local distributor/dealer or municipality for the location of the nearest collection site. Before taking to the collection site: Triple- or pressure-rinse the empty container. Add the rinsings to the spray mixture in the tank. Make the empty container unsuitable for further use
  2. If there is no collection site in your area, dispose of the container in accordance with provincial requirements.
  3. For information on the disposal of unused, unwanted product, contact the manufacturer and the provincial regulatory agency. Contact the manufacturer and the provincial regulatory agency in case of a spill, and for clean-up of spills.
