Flame Control

Flame Control No. 129 is a Class "B" fire retardant varnish base coat when applied to combustible surfaces. No. 129 must be topcoated with No. 130 Fire Retardant Varnish Overcoat, for maximum durability, cleansibility and to comply with the fire hazard classifications. No. 129 is designed for use on all new and previously coated wood surfaces (except floors). No. 129 and No. 130 contain no water soluble ingredients. The coatings will not leach or turn white on aging or washing. The varnish system is suitable for use on Interior surfaces. No. 129 is manufactured with Rule 66 mineral spirits, and possesses no strong or unpleasant odors during application.

Flame Control No. 173 Aircraft is a highly flexible, intumescent type, fire resistant coating. When attacked by fire and/or high heat, the coating puffs up (intumesces) and forms a thick, dense fire barrier, thus affording maximum burn through (fire) protection. This foam layer retards the penetration of heat to the substrate, thus insulating the surface.

Flame Control No. 133A is a water base, fire retardant polyurethane varnish, with a semi-gloss sheen. It is designated for use on all new or previously coated interior wood surfaces (except floors). The varnish will not leach or turn white on aging or washing.

Flame Control No. 170 is a flexible, intumescent type, fire resistant coating. When attacked by fire and/or high heat, the coating puffs up (intumesces) and forms a thick dense fire barrier, thus affording maximum burn through (fire) protection. This foam layer retards the penetration of heat to the substrate, thus insulating the surface.

Flame Control Class A Varnish Topcoat is a fire-retardant varnish to be used as a topcoat for Flame Control Class A Basecoat. This product is available in three sheens; low, semi and high-gloss. These coatings contain no water-soluble ingredients and will not leach or blush when subjected to washing. This product is suitable for use on most interior combustible surfaces (excluding floors). Note: To obtain the Class A rating, one coat of the Class A Basecoat and one coat of the Class A Topcoat must be applied at the prescribed coverage rates.

Flame Control No. 20-20A is a Class "A", interior, low VOC, water base, flat latex, fire retardant paint, manufactured in accordance with Federal Specification TT-P-001932. 20-20A will also provide a 30- minute rating when two coats are applied at the recommended application rates. This coating dries quickly to a flat finish, having the appearance of a conventional flat latex paint. In the presence of heat or flame the coating puffs up (intumesces) and forms a thick, sponge like cellular foam layer; this foam layer insulates the substrate reducing the penetration of heat, thus retarding the flame spread and delaying structural failure.

Flame Control No. 10-10A is a V.O.C. Compliant Class “A”, interior, flat, alkyd type, fire retardant paint, manufactured in accordance with Federal Specification TT-P-26C. No. 10-10A dries quickly to a velvety flat finish, having the appearance of a conventional paint. On contact with flame or excessive heat, the coating decomposes and puffs up (intumesces) forming a thick, dense, spongy foam layer that checks flame spread and retards heat penetration.

Flame Control No. 40-40A is a Class "A", low-gloss, interior-exterior general-purpose latex, (water base) coating. It is rated for use on noncombustible surfaces, and as a topcoat for Flame Control Intumescent Fire-Retardant Paint. It dries quickly to yield a highly cleansible-scrubbable water resistant film that possesses excellent adhesion, flexibility and toughness. No. 40-40A is suitable for application to all interior surfaces (except floors and shelving). Exterior application: May be used on exterior masonry surfaces where a highly water resistant, decorative, fire retardant coating is desired.
