Excellent disintegration
The following figures show the tablet hardness and disintegration time for the tablets compressed at 4 force levels (6, 8, 10, 12kN) with the recipe of adding 5% of HPS-101 to Lactose-G. Adding HPS-101 shortens disintegration time without lowering tablet hardness.
- API Stability
Less interaction with API as it is an ether derivative of starch.
- HPS-101 is gelatinized quicker and retrogrades* slower than starch.
Starch retrogradation means starch becoming insoluble in water as an opposite process of gelatinization. Lactose-G HPS-101 5% add 0 4 8 12 16 20 6kN 8kN 10kN 12kN Compression force Disintegration time(min) 50 70 90 110 130 6kN 8kN 10kN 12kN Compression force Hardness (N) - 2 -
- Stabilizing suspension effectively
