Genteel Coatings 1400 UNIVERSAL CLEAR

Genteel Coatings 1400 UNIVERSAL CLEAR is a two-component water white acrylic polyurethane clear, designed as High value 2K medium solids clear, with a flexible dry time and a competitive price, this is a great choice when budget and quality are equally important. This 4:1 clear can be polished after 4 hours air dry and 60 minutes when baked at 120F. 1400 has great distinctiveness of image (DOI) and lasting durability.

Application
  • Follow manufacturer’s recommendations for applying their basecoat system.
  • Allow Base Coat a flash time of 15-30 minutes before applying clearcoat.
  • Apply 2 medium coats of 1400 Clearcoat. Allow 5-10 minutes flash time between coats.

Polishing
  • Optimum Times : Air Dry: 4 hour at 77°F
  • Sanding : Use 1500 grit or finer or use 1500 DA or finer
  • Compounding : Use finishing compound. Apply a thin ribbon of material to the area to be polished. Use a double sided wool pad or a foam pad. Maintain air polisher or variable speed polisher at 1800-3000 rpm. Remove excess finishing compound with a clean soft cloth prior to applying finishing polishing
