- Features
- The exceptional anti-wear properties of the Fastex® Surface Modifier help protect piston, vane and gear pumps and provide longer component life.
- Improves production and performance through extended service and maintenance intervals.
- The exceptional low friction characteristics contribute to reduced energy consumption.
- Good water and moisture separation with excellent rust and corrosion protection.
- Superior oxidation stability.
- For mobile, stationary hydraulic and industrial manufacturing hydraulic systems.
- The Fastex® Surface Modifier Technology
It is a complex package of esters combined with a highly refined and modified hydrocarbon-based fluid, specifically formulated to improve Boundary Lubrication. It both significantly reduces friction and improves the anti-wear characteristics of metal surfaces. This modified surface has a much higher shear strength to protect equipment and improve operating performance. It protects against thermal damage traditionally caused by extreme loading pressures, oil film breakdown or lubricant failure by providing low friction and good anti-wear barrier between metal surfaces.
Applications & Uses

- Application Area
- Applications
FASTEX® FBOH46 has been developed to be suitable for use with all types of hydraulic pumps, motors and servo valves being capable of use in high pressure (up to 5,000psi, 350 Bar) systems. Designed to work with systems operating under medium to severe conditions where high levels of anti-wear and film strength characteristics are required. The formulation of this fluid ensures minimal corrosion, filter plugging and corrosion in cases of water contamination. FASTEX® FBOH46 is not recommended for use with pumps containing silver-plated components.
Properties
- ISO Viscosity Grade
- Typical Properties
- Conditions
A maximum cold oil viscosity of 900cSt for cavitation protection under full load & speed. Pumps can usually be started, under no-load, at -25ºF but the system temperature must be allowed to reach the Useful Lower Operating Temperature before the load is applied. A minimum hot oil viscosity of 13cSt to provide adequate wear protection under full load operating conditions.
