Application

Ultra-Shield Dampproofing is ready to apply as is directly from the container. Do not heat or thin. All application surfaces must be clean and free of standing water, dirt, dust, debris, oils, failed previous coatings and any other contaminants that may affect adhesion of the coating. Honeycombed concrete or cracks in the walls should be repaired with non-shrinking grout prior to the application of Ultra-Shield Dampproofing. After all preparatory work has been completed, Ultra-Shield Dampproofing should be applied over the entire surface at a minimum rate of 30 - 40 sq. ft. per gallon. To minimize pinholes and ensure maximum performance, apply two coats, each at ½ the recommended coverage rate. The second coat should be applied perpendicular to the first.

Limitations

Do not apply if temperatures are expected to fall below 45˚F (7.2˚C). or if rain or heavy dew is expected within 24 hours of the application. Ultra-Shield Dampproofing should not come in contact with potable water. Do not thin and keep the material from freezing.
