Fluoraz

Fluoraz 890 is formulated for use in sanitary gaskets where both USP and FDA compliance is required, making it an excellent compound for both pharmaceutical and other hygienic fluid handling applications such as seals for brewery applications. Fluoraz 890 metal and TOC extractable are an orde of magnitude lower than premium competitive FKM formulations, ensuring little or no contamination into the process stream. Fluoraz 890 also meets the extrative requirements of both 21 CFR 177.2600 (e), (f) and 21 CFR 177.240 (d) extraction testing for perfluoroelastomers. Fluoraz 890 sanitary gaskets by Greene, Tweed are designed for minimal intrusion.Fluoraz 784 is also available in O-rings and custom shapes where a low durometer hardness is desired.

Sanitary gaskets made from Fluoraz® 799 proivde a level of performance in SIP and CIP systems that surpasses all other elastomers. While EPDMs and FKMs can provide a seal for extended periods, chnages in physical properties can have adverse effects beyond simple volume swell. A decrease in hardness or drop in modulus signals a reduction in compressive strength. If a sanitary gasket is retorqued to the installation specifications, the gasket will be compressed at a greater level than desired, resulting in increased intrusion into the proecess stream. An increased in hardness/modulus and a drop in elongation means embrittlement. The seal will be undertorques, resulting in either leaks or cracking.

Fluoraz 784 cna be used as a sanitary gasket in standard applications as long as the torque used to install the gasket is minimal (hand tight).Fluoraz 784 is alos available in O-rings and custom shapes where a low durometer hardness is desired.

Fluoraz® 888 polytetrafluoroethylene/propylene (FEPM) performs will in aggressive chemicals where ultrapure materials are not required. Recommended for conventional wet and dry system applications requiring better chemical resistance than typical fluoroelastomers, Fluoraz 888 has a good field performance history in both dynamic and static applications. Fluoraz 888 remains stable at service temperatures up to 230°C (446°F).
