Technical Details & Test Data

Mechanism of Action

Skin moisturization is related to the barrier function of the Stratum corneum, which governs skin's water kinetics: balance between water diffusion through the Stratum corneum and evaporation, its flow value and its sequestration.
CARICILINE® simultaneously provides 3 families of molecules: polysaccharides, free sugars component of the NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor) and malic acid, which contributes to trans-epidermal water loss regulation.

Scientific Process

With age, the skin dries, it becomes more sensitive to inflammation, loses its plasticity and becomes rough.
CARICILINE® offers three times more acid oses such as galaturonic acid, which limits trans-epidermal water loss, free sugars making up the NMF, which trap water in the Stratum corneum, forming moisturization complexes, and malic acid, which induces keratin catabolism, restoring skin's suppleness and elasticity. Holding filmogenic substances and hygroscopic components capable of slowing the rate of water evaporation, CARICILINE® maintains the integrity of the Stratum corneum by regulating trans-epidermal water loss.
