Gumix Gum Ghatti

Gumix Gum Ghatti is a complex water-soluble polysaccharide exuded from the Anogeissus latifolia tree of the Combretaceae family which is grown in India. The gum has a glossy fracture and occurs in rounded tears. After the collection, the gum is dried in the sun and sorted by hand into various grades. The product is then cleaned and milled and further processed to conform to sterility standards.

    Gum Ghatti, when added in water, forms a colloidal sol. It forms viscous dispersions in water at 5% or greater concentrations. In preparing sols, cold water should be used for easier dispersion. Gum Ghatti is compatible with other plant hydrocolloids as well as carbohydrates and proteins.
