    Hydrogen peroxide has long been used as an anti-microbial agent. The Halosil formula contains hydrogen peroxide, which, in conjunction with other proprietary raw materials, is converted into an entirely new material.

    Multiple Mechanisms of Killing Action : Halosil disinfects by means of oxidation, oligodynamics and the synergistic effect of all its ingredients. It attacks the cell membrane, DNA and enzymes resulting in effective killing with no risk of resistance. One-Dimensional Killing Mechanism : Basic oxidizer with selective killing ability.     Thermally Stable : At 100°C, Halosil releases approximately three times less O2 than hydrogen peroxide. Non-flammable and non-combustible. Inherently Unstable at High Temperatures : Hydrogen peroxide is highly reactive due to the instability of the peroxide 0-0 bond. Its transformation to water and oxygen increases exponentially as its temperature rises.
    Exceptional Stability and Efficacy : Halosil maintains its effectiveness in heavily contaminated water. Studies show that Halosil replaces hydrogen peroxide at a 1:5 ratio.     The Science Behind the Disinfection

    Halosil’s proprietary formula combines hydrogen peroxide and silver synergistically, releasing highly reactive free radicals that immediately begin to attack the cell membrane of the targeted microorganism. This weakens the cell and allows the silver ions to enter. Together, the silver and hydrogen peroxide destroy the microorganism by:

    • Attacking and disrupting the cell membrane.
    • Binding to the enzymes causing denaturation.
    • Binding to the DNA to stop replication.

    During the process, hydrogen peroxide decomposes into water and oxygen gas, which creates a highly toxic environment for anaerobes. This completes the active disinfection process. When used on surfaces, Halosil Disinfectant requires no rinsing. Halosil itself decomposes into water and oxygen, and contains no chlorinated or brominated ingredients.
