- Usage Measures
This product, when dissolved in water, generates a lot of heat. Use extreme caution when adding product to water. Always add product to water never add water to product. Always use cold water (adding product to hot water may cause it to boil and spatter). Keep product tightly sealed in its original container. Product is a strong desiccant and will absorb enough moisture from the air to dissolve itself and become liquid. Product reacts strongly with metals containing Aluminum and produces Hydrogen gas.
- Mixing Instructions
Always add Caustic Soda to Cold water. NEVER add water to Caustic Soda. Add to cold water, and stir slowly and gently with a wooden stick until the pearls have fully dissolved. Swirl the liquid constantly to prevent "hot spots" developing. Note: The solution will heat up.
- Unblocking Drains:
Mix 100g of Caustic Soda to 1 liter of cold water. Pour the solution slowly down the drain. Leave for about 30 minutes and then flush with hot or boiling water. Repeat treatment may be needed for stubborn blockages. If you are not successful in unblocking the drain, it may be that the obstruction is too big and dense to be broken down with Caustic Soda solution. In this case it will be necessary to physically remove the offending matter, for which Excel Industries offer a comprehensive range of drain Clearing equipment specifically designer for this purpose.
- Cleaning Concrete, Bricks, Paths and Drives:
Mix 125g of Caustic Soda to 5 liters of cold water. Pour the solution onto the stained areas (one at time ) and scrub with a brush. Leave for about 20 minutes and wash thoroughly with clean cold water. Repeat if necessary. (Take care when washing near plants and grass areas, Caustic Soda will damage plants).
- Paint Stripping:
Mix 125g of Caustic Soda to 5 Liters of cold water. Apply the solution onto paint work that need to be stripped. Scrape off when paint begins to blister and bubble. Wash area with clean cold water. Prepare surface for painting in the usual manner.
- For Oven Cleaning:
Mix 100g of Caustic Soda to 1 liter of cold water. Apply the solution with a sponge being careful not to cover the glass door and leave it to sit for 20 minutes to dissolve the grease. Wipe it all off with paper towels and clean oven with soapy water. Make sure that there is no Caustic Soda residue left before it will be used for cooking. It is advised to turn the oven on empty for few minutes to make sure that nothing has been left behind.
Please make sure that the room is well ventilated whilst cleaning your oven as Caustic Soda make produce toxic fumes when heated up.

- If On Skin (Or Hair):Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower.
- If Swallowed:Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting.
- If In Eyes:Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
