HELMICOL 3040 can be used on porous and non-porous wall surfaces. Wall surface must be smooth and flush. Seam joints shall be filled with appropriate filler intended for use with wall surface. Surface to be covered must be dry, clean and free of any foreign materials such as dirt, dust, grease, loose paint, wall paper, etc. that may prevent a proper bond. A bond test should be conducted to ensure proper adhesion is achieved.
- Application
Pour the entire contents of the Part B container into the Part A container. Using a low speed mixer, thoroughly mix the contents until a smooth, even colored consistency is achieved. Immediately pour the contents onto the back of the wall material. Do not allow mixed adhesive to set in container. Apply adhesive with a 3/16" V-Notch trowel. Spread adhesive evenly, holding trowel at a 60° angle. Replace trowels with worn notches. Do not re-notch worn notches. Note: The 3/16" V-Notch trowel recommendation is based on 4’ x 8’ panels or similar. Alternate trowel notching may be required based on the size, gage and weight of various wall materials. After adhesive has been applied, immediately position wall panel on wall surface. Apply pressure to panel and roll entire panel with a wall roller to ensure adhesive transfer to wall surface. To insure transfer of adhesive, wall panel must be positioned while adhesive is wet. Failure to ensure good transfer of adhesive to wall surface may result in wall panel
- Clean-up
Remove wet adhesive immediately with a clean cloth dampened with mineral spirits, isopropanol or acetone. Cured adhesive is very difficult to remove. Do not apply solvents directly to flooring. Use caution when handling flammable solvents.

The area to receive wall panels shall be fully enclosed, weather tight, with an installed operating HVAC system. The installation area, wall materials and adhesive must be acclimated at a temperature between 65 – 85°F for 48-hours prior to, during and after installation. The relative humidity of the installation area shall be maintained between 35 - 55%.
