Applications & Uses
- Uses
Protects and preserves new or old metal and asphalt roofs, gutters and metal flashings. It also dampproofs masonry and concrete structures, preventing moisture absorption or migration. It is ideal for foundation walls, footings, retaining walls, wing walls, abutments and culverts.
- Limitations
Not designed to control water pressure. Use Bakor 700-01. Avoid using where solvent odors may taint food or other products. Roof surfaces should be dry. Do not apply to wet surfaces. During cold weather, condition 810-07 Non-Fibered Asphalt Roof and Foundation Coating in a warm temperature before using.
- Preparation
Surfaces must be sound and free of grease, oil and loose or spalled material. Concrete surfaces must be free of honeycomb, fins, cracks, pits and other surface irregularities. Fix irregular masonry surfaces by parging with cement to a smooth finish.
- Application
Brush or spray a uniform, continuous coating over the entire surface at a rate of 1.6 to 2.0 m²/L (66 to 85 ft.²/gal. US). Apply a second coat once the first coat is dry to the touch. Allow to dry thoroughly before backfilling.
- Cleanup
Use mineral spirits.
