Herbacel® AQ® Plus citrus fiber is obtained from freshly harvested apples (resp. citrus fruits) which are gently dried after extracting the juice (and oils). Non-fibrous compounds such as plant-specific sugars, coloring and aroma components are carefully removed during several washing steps, whereby the natural cell wall structure is practically maintained. This results in neutral sensory properties as well as high water-binding and retention capacity and furthermore it improves the nutritional physiological quality of the product. These high-swelling fruit fibers ensure longer periods of satiety, are beneficial for improving gut motility and stimulate digestion.

HERBACEL® AQ® Plus citrus fibre

Herbasweet® is the neutral sweetness of apples. It is characterized by its light color and low acid content. Besides the various application areas – for example, Herbasweet can be used in drinks, ice cream, fruit preparations, sweets and many more – the easy handling also militates for this option of sweetening. The declaration as “apple sweetener“ instead of sucrose is another outstanding sales argument. Due to its moisture regulation features, Herbasweet can prolong the freshness of e. g. bakery products and fillings. Furthermore, it can be used in products claiming 100 % fruit content. The comparatively low viscosity is another advantage when working with Herbasweet. By using a refinement process, starches, minerals and acids are removed leading to the consistently high level of quality which enables the versatile applications for Herbasweet.

HERBAPEKT® LV are pectins of low viscosity with a dietary fiber content of at least 80%. Herbapekt® LV pectins have been designed for enriching beverages or nutritional supplements with dietary fibers, as a physiological effective dosage is limited by the otherwise high viscosity build-up of pectins. Due to the stability of pectin-based soluble dietary fibers in fruit- juice beverages with lower pH, these low viscosity pectins are a preferred option in such applications. Additionally, the improved cold solubility of the agglomerated Herbapekt LV-pectins is ideal for instant products.

HERBAPEKT® LV

Herbarom® is the product of choice if you want to set an accent in color and taste without having to use isolated colourings or flavorings. You can have significant marketing as well as declaration benefits with the apple extract Herbarom that offers a consumer friendly image. Lately, consumers demanded more and more for ingredients which are as natural as possible. This demand complies with Herbarom’s labeling as „apple extact“. Profit from the health-promoting effect of apple’s secondary plant metabolites present in Herbarom. Boost the positive and natural image – for example in beverages, bakery products, sauces and many other products – by using Herbarom. Herbacel® Classic citrus fiber is obtained from freshly harvested apples (resp. citrus fruits) which are gently dried after extracting the juice (and oils). Carefully selected raw material is mechanically cleaned and milled to defined particle sizes. Herbafood offers a wide selection of different fruit fibers in various particle sizes – from fine powder to coarse granules. The Classic fibers are characterized by the individual fruit-specific aroma which is mainly due to the high amounts of secondary plant substances as well as the remaining plant sugars. The proportion of soluble fibers, particularly pectin, is about one third, thus providing a balanced ratio of soluble and insoluble dietary fibers in terms of nutritional physiology.

HERBACEL® Classic apple fibre

HERBAPEKT® APE is produced by drum-drying liquid pectins. The resulting products contain approximately 25 % dietary fibers in the form of highly esterified pectins. Hence apple pectin extracts also possess the viscosity-increasing and gel-forming properties characteristic of pectins. Even more important however is the nutritional physiological effect of pectins to bind bile salts, which assists the regulation of blood cholesterol levels. Apple pectin extracts furthermore contain the apples’ own fruit sugars, mainly fructose and glucose as well as fruit acids and typical phenolic compounds of apples. This significantly contributes to the pleasant fruity-acidic aroma. On its own or in combination with other ingredients, apple pectin extracts lend themselves very well to food supplementation.
