"Hibco Foam Plastics was incorporated in 1959 as three primary investors, C.B. Hughes, J.W. Irvin, and S.A. Bell, saw the future importance of fabricating Dow Brand foam for the floral industry. This focus expanded in 1979 when Dan Pavlansky entered the business and started to concentrate more in the area of cushion packaging. Dan had been a Product Manager with the Dow Chemical Company and understood the technical nature of many complex packaging solutions.

The sales volumes doubled when Dan took over, and the company moved from its 14,000 sq. ft. building to a 120,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and warehouse space that the company operates from today.

Having developed a strong management team during the ’80s and ’90s, Dan, as Chairman of the Board, took on more of a consultative role, and his presence, leadership, and values are all still going strong today!

Mark, Keith, and Chris Pavlansky, three of Dan’s five sons, manage the sales, manufacturing, and day-to-day operations at Hibco. The three brothers, all with engineering backgrounds, navigated to the company through the tough economic times of the Great Recession, and the organization is thriving today as it celebrates 60 years. Hibco Foam Plastics was founded on the principles of providing quality service and products while continuing to first seek the Kingdom of God.

MicroCell® is a chemically crosslinked polyolefin closed-cell foam available in 3" and 4" bun form with an extremely fine cell structure. It is easily skived to thinner thicknesses. This has taken the place of Voltek’s Minicel since it is no longer available in the U.S. Standard FMVSS-302 and Aviation F.A.R. 25.853 (A) vertical burn test.

MicroCell

Ensolite® a closed-cell foam material made from a blend of Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) and Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) It provides a broad range of compression densities. It is for applications in industrial gasketing, flotation insulation and athletic padding. It is a 3.5 to 9.0 pounds per cubic ft. closed-cell PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) foam. It can be used over a temperature range of -20°F to 250°F.

EthaFoam® is a resilient closed-cell foam construction. with outstanding recovery characteristics and ideal cushioning protection against impact. EthaFoam® protects products from a few pounds to hundreds. Dynamic cushioning performance in end caps, corner pads and load separators. EthaFoam® helps in blocking and bracing of delicate product. It is for products requiring a shock-absorbing, vibration dampening, insulation barrier and/or buoyancy component.

EthaFoam

Trymer® is a rigid polyurethane foam which is ideal for insulating properties for plumbing, watercraft, and duct work insulation. It can also be used as a fibrous glass support material. This foam is a polyisocyanurate, so it may also be referred to as Rigid Urethane "ISO". It is one of the lowest ambient k-factors among all foam insulations (0.19 BTU in/hr ft2 °F at 75°F mean temperature (0.027 W/m °C at 24°C)). It can be used over a broad temperature range from -297°F to 300°F (-183°C to 148°C).

Trymer

Flexible Foam Polyether Urethane is a lower density flexible urethane foam used in industrial packaging applications where higher loads are involved. It is a low cost, high resilient open cell flexible foam. It can be formulated to meet the MIL-PRF-26514, Cal-117, MVSS302, UL-94, and the FAR 25.853(a) specifications.

Hibco Plastics Flexible Foam Polyether Urethane

Expanded Polystyrene Foam (EPS) is a molded polystyrene foam used in packaging applications and also has insulation applications. It can be used for blocking and bracing for furniture and appliances. Expanded Polystyrene Foam has a very high compressive strength, and is very compatible with corrugated cardboard and flexible foams. It is commonly used to package and protect water heaters, dishwashers, and large appliances. It also provides impact protection for sensitive electronic equipment. It is used for applications that require protection from shock and vibration.

Hibco Plastics Expanded Polystyrene Foam (EPS)

Crosslinked Foam contains cross-linked bonds in the polymer structure that changes a thermoplastic into an elastomer. Crosslinked Foam is for industrial, orthopedic, and construction use where durability is required.

Flexible Foam Polyester Urethane is extremely easy to fabricate. It is used for display packaging, cushion packaging, acoustic applications, case inserts, medical applications, and gasketing applications. It can be formulated to meet the MIL-PRF-26514, Cal-117, MVSS302, UL-94, and the FAR 25.853(a) specifications.

EthaFoam®

Filter Foam (Reticulated Foam) is an open-pore polyurethane foam ideal for air filters in air conditioners and I.C. engines, or ceramic filters. It can also be dipped or coated to perform other functions. Reticulation is a process by which the cell walls of the foam are removed leaving a skeletal structure behind. Filter or reticulated foam works as a depth-loading filter instead of a surface-loading filter.

Anti-Static Polyethylene is a closed-cell foam for static discharge protection. It provides critical protection to sensitive electronic parts and products. Anti-Static Polyethylene offers controlled, dissipation of electro-static charges emitted from other neighboring materials and personnel during handling, assembly, and shipment of the product. It contains internal anti-static agents designed to eliminate static-potential from the foam itself, and to dissipate electro-static discharges from other sources.

Styrofoam® HL is an extruded Polystyrene foam used as insulation where high load-bearing is required. (Highload 40 - 60 - 100). It is a Type V extruded polystyrene foam insulation which resists compressive creep and fatigue, delivering long-term compressive strength and thermal performance in HL applications. Typical plank size is 2″ x 48″ x 96″ and is a blue material. It has a R-value of 10.
