Merginamid A 210/5 is an emulsifying hardener especially suited for the formulation of
- Aqueous corrosion protection coatings
- Concrete primers
- Floor and wall paints
- Epoxy cement mortars,
- Thick layer self leveling floor coatings
- Industrial coatings
- Corrosion inhibition paints.
Merginamid A 210/5 has a transparent appearance and lighter color than other standard hardeners*. The very light color of this hardener and its low yellowing tendency enable its use also in the decorative field of application.
It shows good adhesion on metallic and mineral substrates, good early water resistance and a good chemical resistance. The coating formulations based on this hardener possess a potlife of about one hour, and the coating films reach their final hardness at a high gloss level already after two days. Due to their very low shrinkage tendency epoxy coatings based on Merginamid A 210/5 can also be applied as thick layers. Thick layer (3 mm) selflevelling concrete coatings bind within 24 hours and result in a homogeneous surface with high water resistance. Pigment wetting is very good and pigment floating is avoided.
