Hpulcas GmbH is a small company in Central Saxony based in the mountain town of Freiberg in the Ore Mountains. At this traditional Saxon location, the historically grown mining and materials science university landscape is combined with modern cutting-edge research on an international scale. In addition to the scenic surroundings, this was one of the main criteria for choosing the location when our company was founded in 2010. Hpulcas stands for high purity ultra low carbon and sulfur and is synonymous with a new way of producing strip, sheet, foil and wire of the highest metallurgical purity. The main focus is currently on nickel, and a patented process enables us to manufacture high-quality HPN™ products (high-purity nickel), the purity of which significantly exceeds that of the best pure nickel currently established on the market, Ni270. The key to the process lies in the direct processing of cathodic nickel, instead of producing it via the powder or smelting metallurgical route.
