SpaceRite® a special purpose white hydrated alumina. White hydrated alumina is aluminum trihydroxide, Al(OH)3, that is produced through special processing of aluminous feedstock and stringent process control systems. The result is hydrated alumina unequaled in purity and whiteness. Although hydrated alumina is a dry powder, when heated above approximately 220ºC it decomposes in approximately 35% water and 65% alumina by weight.SpaceRite can also replace other extenders providing enhanced performance and benefits in coatings and adhesives.

MARTINAL® aluminum hydroxide (ATH) and MAGNIFIN® magnesium hydroxide (MDH) are halogen-free fire retardant additives that have proven themselves over time as dependable stalwarts that have met and exceeded the demanding requirements of compounders and producers. The environmentally-friendly MARTINAL® and MAGNIFIN® products are non-corrosive, inert and without effect of pigmentation smoke suppressors. MARTINAL® and MAGNIFIN® flame retardants are available in various grades, tailor-made precisely to the specific properties of major plastic systems meeting the most stringent requirements of the wire & cable industry. Precipitated MARTINAL® ATH and MAGNIFIN® MDH are used most commonly in different polymeric backbones for cable compounds. The high purity MARTINAL® and MAGNIFIN® grades are designed for use in plastics and rubber, but can also be used in other applications.

Huber’s MoldX® Optimized Alumina Trihydrate (ATH) products eliminate halogens and reduce resin consumption. All MoldX products allow for higher loadings while offering the latest in low viscosity technology thus providing increased flame retardant efficiency at lower formulation costs.

Micral® is a high surface area alumina trihydrate product with a very precise particle size distribution. Features and benefits include: a lower-cost replacement for precipitated ATH; lower soluble soda and free moisture content; improved handling properties; dependable delivery; long-tern availability;exceptional brightness; excellent suspension; an economical halogen-free smoke suppressor/flame retardant. Applications include wire and cable insulation, injection-molded polyolefins, coatings, adhesives, rubber goods, paper filler and coating, PVC, EPDM, EPR, ABS, XLPE and compression-molded Thermosets.

Huber Engineered Materials’ Hymod® is surface treated ATH product that provides hydrophobicity, flame retardancy and smoke suppression in a variety of applications, such as acrylic, EPDM, EVA, SBR, polyester and polyolefin compounds. The surface modification enables this product to have low moisture and to be easily and uniformly dispersed into polymers at high loading levels without causing processing rheology concerns.

Pergopak® flatting and matting agents are organic thermoset polymethyl urea resins (PMU) offering significantly different performance advantages and benefits versus typical silica and polypropylene type flatting agents. Pergopak products help formulators of industrial coatings, inks and overprint varnishes to achieve a higher performing balance of low gloss, rheology, abrasion resistance, coin-marking, water resistance, chemical resistance, heat resistance and soft feel - that they are unable to achieve with silica or wax flatting agents alone.

Hubercarb is mainly pure calcium carbonate manufactured by hubergroup. There are four series of Hubercarb products available. Hubercarb® Q Series products include ultra-fine, fine, medium-fine and granular particle size calcium carbonates. Several of these products have been surface-modified to enhance end-use performance . Hubercarb® M Series Calcium Carbonate is mined from a uniform deposit of high calcium limestone in Marble Falls, Texas. Products include ultra-fine, fine and medium-fine sizes. Select products have been surface-modified to enhance end-use performance. Hubercarb® W Series Calcium Carbonate has a purity level of 99.3%, is mined from a world-class limestone deposit and processed in Quincy, Illinois. Products include ultra-fine and fine median particle sizes. Two of the W Series grades have been surface-modified to enhance end-use performance. The W Series products are ideal for applications that require high-filler loadings, low moisture content and silica content below detectable levels. The W Series is low in trace metals like iron, which can promote undesirable degradation in some polymer systems. The unique particle shape and particle size distribution lend the W Series products to low viscosity at high-filler loadings, improved surface-finish in molded parts, reduced part shrinkage and part breakage, while saving on expensive equipment repair costs. Hubercarb® G Series Calcium Carbonate is mined from a world-class deposit of high brightness marble in Marble Hill,Georgia. Products include ultra-fine, fine, medium-fine and granular particle sizes. Several of these products have been surface-modified to enhance end-use performance. The G Series products are ideal for applications that require high brightness or pure tints.

Geotex® calcium carbonate is a line of coarse screened calcium carbonate products produced from high purity white marble mined in Marble Hill, Georgia. Each product is sifted through different sized screens to produce consistent material for a variety of applications. The Geotex Series is part of the entire Huber family of solutions. Other products include Alumina Trihydrate (ATH), Barium Sulfate, Magnesium Hydroxide (MDH), Silica and Silicates.

Optifil is a unique ground calcium carbonate from a specialty, high purity calcium carbonate and processed at Huber’s largest GCC plant in Quincy, Illinois. Key advantages of ultra-fine particle distribution, high surface area, round particle shape, and low silica content are enhanced by processing with a proprietary fatty acid-based surface treatment which allow the material to be used as an extender in pipe, conduit, rubber, plastics, and PVC compounds.
