IB Rapid Set Insulation Adhesive is a one-step, all- purpose, elastomeric foam adhesive designed to bond approved roof insulations and cover boards to a variety of substrates. A one-step application process eliminates error due to poor mixing. It is dispensed using a hand applicator and is quick and easy, resulting is signifi cant labor savings.

Application

Refer to IB Specifi cations and Construction Details for additional installation instructions. PG-1 adhesive can be used to install IB roof insulation and cover boards over approved dry, clean substrates. Installation over existing smooth or gravel surfaced asphalt roofs (gravel removed) requires additional preparation.

1 Substrates and all surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dirt, dust, debris, oils, loose and/or embedded gravel. IB Roof Systems recommends insulation adhesion pull tests in accordance with ANSI/SPRI IA-1 prior to beginning work to confi rm acceptable uplift resistance.

Limitations
  • All surfaces to be bonded must be clean, dry and free of any debris and smooth with no surface contamination
  • Not recommended for use with insulation boards larger than 4’x4’
  • Do not use warped or curled insulation boards. All insulation boards must lay fl at upon the roof surface Not recommended for use over Coal Tar roofs
  • Not recommended for fl eeceback membranes
  • Millenium Universal Primer required over prepared (spudded or swept) gravel surfaced asphalt BUR, or smooth / granulated BUR or modifi ed bitumen membranes.
  • Millenium Surface Treatment primer required over non-oxidized (fresh / glazed) asphalt or smooth APP membranes.
